CNN: Romania Protest agains President Basescu

People are getting out of their homes in Romania to go and protest on the streets. This is the second day of protests and they are live in Bucharest, Constanta, Iasi, Drobeta Turnu-Severin, Cluj, Timisoara, Craiova, Ploiesti and other cities, CNN reports.

Romanian police fired tear gas during an anti-government protest Saturday, the third consecutive day of demonstrations against austerity cuts and falling living standards.

More than 1,000 protesters rallied in Bucharest's main University Square, blocking traffic. After seven hours, they refused to leave, and scuffled several times with riot police who then used tear gas.

Several police officers sustained injuries after they were hit by stones, local media reports said. The ambulance service said nine people had been treated for injuries. Protesters yelled anti-government slogans and called for early elections.

The protest began when President Traian Basescu went live and presented the new health law. How is it possible that in the new law, we all need to pay to the state but for nothing, because all health services will be paid. So why are we paying? and for what? How is it possible that President Basescu told us that only the rich people will benefit from the healt services when 90% from the people living in romania are poor?

The president wanted to disolve the SMURD(emergency healt service) and so people are on the streets. Yesterday they were protesting about the health law. After the protests, Traian Basescu went live and canceled the law but today the protests are in all the country. People aren't protesting now for some law.. they are protesting for their freedom!
