Romania, a firm candidate for hosting European Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) seat

Alongside the Swedish Presidency of the European Union, the Romanian authorities will assess Romania’s arguments for hosting the European Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER); the country’s candidature is firm, Minister of Foreign Affairs Cristian Diaconescu on Thursday told a press conference.

"Together with the Swedish Presidency of the European Union we will assess Romania’s arguments in support of Bucharest’s bid to accommodate the European Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators.
Romania’s candidacy is firm and the Foreign Ministry provides with all determination the support the Ministry of Economy needs for achieving this goal," Cristian Diaconescu assured.

He said that Romania will further attach a particular importance to energy security, and informed in this context the Swedish EU Presidency that Romania’s priorities are the Nabucco energy corridor, the Pan-European project linking Constanta to Trieste, the building of a liquefied gas terminal in Constanta and carrying out the energy interconnection plan with Bulgaria and Hungary.
