If somebody starts from the fact that one national community in Serbia self states in the own mother tongue as being ROMANIAN (or RUMANIAN) – however other names are used by others – would be enough to conclude that’s about a single people.

One part of the Romanian people lives in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, with the right of official use the language and the alphabet, in fact with the right of the mother tongue: in the fields of education, public information, confession and culture. The members, using their mother tongue in the literary form, have no problems to translate their nationality into the official Serbian language, as ROMANIAN is RUMUN, like the authorities of Serbia do.

The other part of this people lives in Eastern Serbia, where nobody asked the people but imposed the term VLACH?? (through the census in 1921), the authorities accepting in Serbian language such name, as loyalty for country is at first!! Than Yugoslav citizens, now Serb citizens, the local citizens name themselves in the official Serbian language with the term VLACH and in their mother tongue RUMANIANS.
